Salt Lake Visit
We recently had the opportunity to visit Salt Lake to see family and friends. And we had a very fun, full visit. Here is what we did:
Day 1: Left the house right after seminary got over so that we could get to the airport in time to feed Savannah breakfast. And it was good that we left extra early because by the time we walked into the gate area they were already boarding...and you don't want to waste those Southwest Airlines A boarding passes! She did pretty well on all the flights; we were so glad! When we got to Salt Lake, after going home, the first place Todd went was, of course, Cafe Rio to get us a salad to share.
Day 2: We headed to Alpine to see my Grandparents and Aunt and Cousin. We had a wonderful day together. And how glad I was to see my Grandpa hold and play with my daughter. That evening we went to Wheeler Farm for a tractor ride through their woods and then ate soup for dinner with the whole family. Cam & Leila slept over that night too at Mom & Dads. Here she is playing with my cousin Reva.
Day 3: Mom put together a wonderful open house, held at our Cousin Wendy's house. We had a wonderful time seeing all the family! That afternoon and evening we headed up to Ogden for my Grammie's Christmas Party. In order to get your white elephant gift, you have to perform a little talent. Savannah showed off her rolling over skills, standing skills, and just being cute! Todd and I tried to sing a Forgotten Carols song, but that didn't exactly work out...
Day 4: Went to Church, saw many wonderful friends, and then had the Reynolds Family Christmas dinner (with turkey, stuffing, and all the works) and presents (for us anyway). Savannah actually did a great job opening, until she got too tired. She loves the little baby doll that Grandma gave her. She immediately started giving it slobbery kisses all over it's face.
Day 5: Took pictures with Savannah and Ellie and went back to Alpine in the evening to see another Aunt and Grandparents again for dinner.
Day 6: Todd and I went to the Salt Lake Temple, and took the opportunity to walk around temple square briefly while Grandma was watching Savannah. Later that evening, some of Todd's friends came by for a little pizza party and visit. His friends are known as the "Loser Club"...cool, huh?
Day 7: Went back to the airport to come back home. We are thankful to see all of our family, many which we had not seen in a long time. I also had the goal of Savannah getting pictures with all of her great-grandparents while there, and we were successful!
Overall, a great visit, with many firsts for Savannah: snow, mountains, new family and friends, airplane ride, opening presents, tractor ride, sleeping away from her own bed, new formula half way through the trip, meeting 6 great grandparents, and a new hairdo compliments of Grandma.
Go to the board!
