What We Did This Weekend:
Eatin' Good in the Neighborhood
Yes. It's true. Another visit to Applebee's was this weekend's highlight. We ate there on our weekly date-night Friday. We don't even open the menu any more. You would think that we would get sick of having the same thing again, and again, but no. Before our Applebee's conversion, we preferred Chili's – more specifically, the Turkey Combo, with a cup of Chicken Enchilada Soup. We would always order that combo. But I was usually curious if there was something else I'd like instead. So I would often pick another item, and then be jealous that Brookie got the Turkey Combo. But with the Quesadilla Burger, I have no desire to venture further into Applebee's repertoire.
Brookie had been sick most of the week, but was finally starting to feel better by Friday evening. Here's hoping that I manage to avoid the bug.
Saturday was mostly uneventful, with one exception. We were invited to a friend's house to watch the Season 3 finale of Psych that they had DVR'd (DVR'd? dee-vee-ahrred? Don't you hate it when there's not really a good way to spell things you commonly say?). It was fitting, I suppose. The last time we hung out with them was when they told us we should check-out this funny show called Psych. I went home and put the season 1 pilot in our Netflix queue, and since then, we've been hooked.
Sunday we gave a ride to church to a blind member of our ward, Dale. He's on his way back to full activity in the church, and we have been his ride whenever we can. A few weeks ago the Bishop ordered a set of scriptures in braille for him, and Sunday we packed them in our car so Dale could take them home. We couldn't believe the space it took up. There were two big boxes of scriptures in the back of the xB – and that was just for the Book of Mormon and the New Testament. I think we'd need a bigger vehicle to transport the Old Testament in braille.
Anyway, if you're still reading this thrilling post, I commend you. You must be a true fan of Todd and Brookie, and our weekend exploits. I am getting close to completing the blog redesign and I think it will be really cool. So... yeah.
