Climbing the Y

We think we will make it a tradition to climb the Y each year. It was pretty hard. It was really hot and also difficult to carry Savannah up. But she walked the whole way down! The best part was getting ice cream and french fries from the BYU Creamery after the hike!

I don't think Savannah understood what mountain climbing was before hand. About two minutes in (granted, it is pretty steep), she was ready to be done. We made it through with Todd carrying her, lots of breaks for water, and setting small goals (okay, Savannah, climb up to that rock up there and then Daddy can carry you again).

That hike always reminds you a little bit of the purpose of mortality: just keep going, endure to the end, set small goals, use others (namely, the Lord) to help you, take lots of breaks to nourish yourself, and make sure you have the right equipment.

We had a lot of fun; and it is always nice to go back to our home away from home: BYU.
