A Lot of Happy...a Lot of Tears
We have had a lot of happy moments, and lots of tears in our house the last couple weeks. We were super excited to have dear friends from Kansas City come to visit. Savannah was so happy to be with Sophie. All the kids played and played. But lots of sad tears were shed when Sophie had to leave, and the next morning Savannah was still sad. She has been wearing a ring Sophie gave her for several days.
Another day, I took the kids to the Thanksgiving Point Farm. We were having a great time. We had gone on the pony rides and seen some other animals. We were on the wagon ride when Savannah started to rub her eyes. Before I knew it, her eye started to get all bumpy and started to swell, big and fast! I got off the pony ride (thankfully, a friend was with us, so she could keep Jackson), and we went to the bathroom. Trying to clean out Savannah's eye didn't help at all, it just kept getting bigger and bigger. I didn't know what to do. I was getting so nervous. I remembered there was a little clinic nearby, so I thought I would just take her over there. That turned out to be a waste of time and money. But oh well. It took a couple of days, but eventually her eyes returned to normal. Must have been some allergic reaction. It was really gross...and scary.
We also have enjoyed some play time at the Tracy Aviary and in the Seven Canyons spray park at Liberty Park. Some friends who recently moved here from Kansas City came with us.
Jackson enjoyed a bike ride with just Mom and Dad (Savannah was having a sleep over at Grandma's house), but after awhile he was kind of done.
Jackson's hair had gotten a little out of control, so we decided it was time for a cut. Jackie did good and just sat in his seat while Daddy cut his hair. Though I didn't actually shed any tears, I wanted to cry. Now he doesn't look like a little baby, he looks more like a little boy.
We had some friends over for our most recent culture night about Tonga. It was great! Yummy food, and we even got to see how you get real coconut milk out of a coconut! We love culture nights!
