What We Did This Weekend: We ♥ Buffets

Last weekend began on Thursday evening when we met up with Lori Thompson, our realtor, at Peach Wave. Yes...our realtor...more on that later. It is always delightful to eat frozen yogurt, even if it is in the dead of winter.

On Friday, after Savannah and I picked up Todd from work, we headed to Lee's Summit for an awesome date night activity of grocery shopping. It was actually much more fun than it sounds because normally it is just Savannah and I doing the shopping, so it was great to have Todd with us. Our last stop was Hyvee for a few final ingredients, which is where we also ate our date night dinner. Yes, very fancy. The Hyvee Chinese and Salad Bar Buffet. Now before you make fun of us, you have to know that it was only $5 for the Hyvee all-you-can-eat Chinese, and $5 for the all-you-can-eat Salad Bar. Who doesn't love a good buffet? And it was good!

So, here's the scoop on the meeting with the realtor. We have decided to put our house on the market, just to see what happens (anyone want to buy it...it is cute!). If it sells, great. If not, then we will probably refinance. We just want to get into a little bit better situation. Not sure if it will happen, but we might as well give it a try. We were going to put our house on the market last year, but it just didn't quite feel right yet. So, we'll see what happens. On Friday night we emailed Lori what we wanted our list price to be, and she set up a time to come over the next afternoon to do all the paperwork! We have an awesome realtor, we just love her. If you need a good one, let us know. She is fabulous and truly cares about her clients. It is so nice to have someone you can count on completely with something as important as selling your house.

Consequently, Saturday morning we worked feverishly to get the house ready for Lori to take pictures. Paperwork & pictures went well. It was worth it just to get our house that pristine, plus it motivated us to take down our Christmas stuff. Your house always looks empty after you take down Christmas stuff.

So now we have been working hard to get all the closets and cabinets organized, the basement cleaned, and everything else tidied up for open houses and showings.

On Sunday, we went to church. Church is now at nine instead of eleven, and it actually is much nicer for Savannah's nap time later. After church we just worked on our callings, prepared lessons, and enjoyed the day of rest after all our hard work.

Go to the board!
