What We Did This Weekend: Indiana Trip

This weekend we took a trip in the XB to see my family in northern Indiana. We left on Thursday afternoon and drove to St. Louis. We did a little bit of temple work, before heading over to our hotel. We have never stayed in a hotel with Savannah before, so since there was only one room, after we put her down, we went to bed too. That was okay though since we were getting up at 4am the next morning. When we do road trips with Savannah, we like to get an extra early start so that we can get several hours of driving in before she wakes up and is ready to eat.

We got to N. Manchester, Indiana just after noon, and our first stop was Manchester High School. I was able to see a couple teachers, and we saw both boys. It is a small school, so it just so happened that both teachers we were saying hi to had the boys in class then.

On Friday night, we all went to Sandwich Cellar for dinner. I got my favorite: a warm turkey bacon club, and of course, pizza fries on the side.

Saturday we strolled around the main street of Manchester, then headed home for lunch. My mom cooked us up some of her famous meatballs. That evening we drove down to the church for Brady's Eagle Court of Honor. In addition to just going for a visit, we were so excited to be able to combine our trip with this special event. We are so proud of both he and Bryce for getting their Eagle Scout Awards.

On Sunday, we went to church, and then came home and made some deep dish pizzas and cupcakes for dinner. Yum!

We got up early again Monday morning, and headed out. It was a quick trip, but great! And Savannah loves her uncles!
