It's Official
It's official. Savannah is a Kansas City Royals fan...we have a certificate saying so.
On Monday we took Savannah to her first Royals game. It was Eagle Scout night, so in addition to one free and one cheap ticket, we got some free hot dogs, chips, and bottles of water with the rest of the area Eagle Scout-Royals Fans.
We got to the park about 5:15 or so, and got in the hot dog line (oh, Todd got a T-shirt too!). After we ate our food, we headed into the stadium and straight to the Guest Services office to pick up the "official" certificate stating that Savannah is now a fan. It is a fun service the Royals offer to first time attendees (kids...I don't think they give certificates to the adults, sorry).
Next we headed to a few of the different fan stores in the stadium, including the Kids Zone to try to find her a simple pink Royals shirt. No luck. All the pink ones were too big! We had someone take a picture of us with the Royals Statue of Liberty, and then we headed to our seats.
Savannah did great at the game, and Todd had to hold her, of course, so that I could keep score. Despite the Royals loss, it was still a fun game, and then it made it easy to leave early so we could still get some kind of bedtime in for the night.
A few other things Savannah loves: swinging on our porch swing, going on walks, playing peek a boo (but she doesn't really get it yet), listening to books and singing, dancing with daddy, and now baseball. Good thing. We should keep track now of how many games she goes to. I plan on teaching her how to keep score, but... we'll wait until next year to start that.
Go to the board!
So much fun!! I am glad that you guys got to go. We would love to go with you sometime.....it could be a great night for all of us. :)
