Movie Night and Temple Day
I can't believe it, but with Friday night's Movie Night, our Elders Quorum has now put together successful activities in back-to-back months. In March we had Game Night, which was well attended, informative, and fun. This past Friday we met at the Elders Quorum President's house for movie night. Brookie and I were about 45 minutes late, but we didn't miss anything. Before the movie we were thoroughly instructed on the subject of food storage, including demonstration of two kinds of wheat grinders.
The movie we watched was The Ultimate Gift. Both of us gave it two thumbs up. If you have a Netflix account, add it to your queue. It's a great family-friendly movie—very "Hallmark-ish."
Looking ahead to our upcoming Saturdays this month, we decided we needed to go to the Temple this Saturday. We left Kansas City at 6:30 AM, and made it to St. Louis in plenty of time for the 10:30 AM session. After our session we took in three family names for some sealings and ended up do sealings for two hours. It was almost 3:30 PM when we stopped at the St. Louis Bread Company for lunch. On the way home I experimented with our speed to see what difference it would make with our gas mileage. On the way there I drove between 75-80mph. On the way back I drove 60-65mph. Most everyone was passing me, but the gas mileage was significantly better. In fact, based on current gas prices, we would save about $10 in our total fuel costs for our temple trips if we drive like we did on the way home.
And that's what we did this weekend. Stay tuned though—we've had some good dinners lately (one in particular) that we kind of made up on the fly that I'll be sharing later.
Go to the board!

The Ultimate Gift ... watched it in WA two summers ago. Sorry, but no comment on the thumbs - have to agree with "Hallmark-ish."
ReplyDeleteIt's probably safe to say we have different tastes in movies.
