General Conference

General Conference talks are now available! Click here to check out all the talks.

One of my favorite talks was by Elder Quentin L. Cook. He spoke about family history. And I love family history. If you ever want to get started or need help, let me know! Here is a link to the church's family history site that is available and free to anyone, with millions of records. Just visit familysearch.org. My favorite quote from Elder Cook was actually a teaching from another Apostle, Elder Russell M. Nelson in his talk "A New Harvest Time." He taught that the Spirit of Elijah, which is a driving force behind family history work, is "a manifestation of the Holy Ghost bearing witness of the divine nature of the family."

We started looking forward to Easter. We always do special activities to get ready for this special holiday each year: a family home evening to kick off the week, special scripture reading each day about what happened during the Savior's last week of His mortal ministry, and an easter symbols kit that we review on Easter Sunday. Each morning I have the opportunity to read scripture stories and The Friend Magazine stories with Savannah while she eats breakfast, after we take Todd to work. So this year, she and I have also been enjoying an activity from the Friend to help us be excited for Easter and learn more about Jesus Christ.

If you live in the Salt Lake area, this is also a great time to visit Temple Square. Savannah and I took our cameras one day and had a great time walking around. She took a ton of pictures!

If you haven't seen this awesome Easter video, please check it out.
