Crazy June
June has been crazy! Sorry it's been so long between posts. Here's a few highlights of our month:
The first weekend we went to Indiana to Bryce's graduation. It was so fun to be there to support him, and we are so proud of him! We also got to help out at the graduation party...my dad had Taco Bell take care of the food...brilliant! It was great.
A few weeks after graduation, we went to a family reunion for my mom's side, in Nauvoo. We also made a little stop along the way to do a grave rubbing for an ancestor of mine! It was so nice to see extended family that we haven't seen in awhile, and to be able to support my mom. It was so fun to spend time with family. My aunt also arranged for us to clean the Nauvoo temple one evening, and that was a definite highlight. I think Todd's favorite part was getting a Purple Cow (a grape float); he had been looking forward to it for awhile!
For Father's Day, I (we) made Todd some jalapeno slider burgers, homemade french fries, and key lime pie. We got him a new, much-needed white shirt and a new tie.
At the end of the month was our 8th anniversary! We celebrated by taking a whole day to ourselves. On Saturday, we dropped Savannah at a friends in the morning (thanks guys!) and didn't get her until about 5pm. We went to the Nelson-Atkins Art Museum to see the World's Fair Exhibit. After the museum, we went to lunch at our favorite anniversary place: The Cheesecake Factory. This time we got the Chocolate Rasberry Truffle! Wow! In the afternoon, we went to a little play at Coterie Theatre in Crown Center. It was a rendition of the Princess and the Pea. I'm not sure there were too many couples there without children; it is mostly a children's theater. But since we are still kids at heart, we had a great time! Our actual anniversary was on a Sunday, so that day we made a nice dinner and dessert together. 8 years of wedded bliss! There have been changes, trials, and (a few) disagreements, but we are so thankful for the Gospel that keeps us united and firmly rooted to what we know to be most important.
Have I ever posted this on our blog? (We made this after reading The Three Big Questions for a Frantic Family together...we recommend it.) Just a little about us:

We, the R Family, are overthinking perfectionists,
where silliness and laughter are fused by our somewhat extreme need to always
be together and do things together. We are always on the move, whether it be creating a new
culinary concoction, exploring a new place, enjoying a family tradition, or
being there for someone else. Our roots hold us anchored tight to the Gospel of
Jesus Christ.

You guys are so cute and Savannah has gotten so big and is as beautiful as ever. I wish we were going through KC soon! Are you guys thinking of coming up to the BYU/Notre Dame game in the fall? If so, tickets are on sale this week for Midwestern fans... let me know if you want the link!
