March Weekends

March came in eventfully with Savannah officially beginning to crawl on March 4th. She has been crawling/scooting backwards for a little while, but she took forward movement finally! She is much quicker now with a few weeks practice.

We took Savannah to her first Royals event, a showing of a spring training in the Diamond Club. Of course, we took advantage to see the Diamond Club, free of charge, with complimentary Royals hat. Here she is sporting the baseball shoes from Grandma for all of this season's games.

Two weekends ago, we all went to the annual Kansas City Auto Show. We love this event; and this year Todd got to test drive a few cars. I think my overall favorite car was actually a honda fit. That weekend, we also had Stake Conference. We had never done the adult session with a child before. Todd and I were both singing in the choir, so we asked a friend from the ward to watch her. Shortly after the meeting began, Todd said that he left with Savannah. When we stood to sing, I didn't see him anywhere, so after we sang I went out into the lobby to try and locate what I presumed to be a very fussy little baby. As I made my way down the hallway, I heard her crying, which got progressively louder as I approached the Relief Society room. There was Miss Savannah with our friend, just crying her eyes out. As soon as I took her, she settled right down. Needless to say, she is going through a bit of a separation anxiety phase.

This past weekend we were able to go to the temple in Omaha, and we are happy to report that there were no "Nebraska-hates-the Reynolds" incidents. The temple was very busy, which is nice to see. We went with some friends, so it was nice to be able to go into the temple with Todd, instead of taking turns. We are so grateful for temples within driving distance. It is such a blessing in our lives, we always feel strengthened after we go to the temple. Even though it is sometimes hard because it is a long day for Savannah, we are grateful to have her in on that tradition. Sunday was regular church day, and Savannah did much better at "springing forward" than she did in the fall at the time change. We had amazing talks given at church this last week. One of the Young Women spoke about the standards in the For the Strength of Youth pamphlet. Another sister talked about her conversion story, and the last talk was about hope. How great is that!

Savannah is becoming a very funny little girl. 8 months now! She recently started eating peas, bananas, and avocado. She wasn't too fond of the avocado. This week we will start on apples. Just recently she started making a really funny pouty face, with her bottom lip and chin sticking way out. She is already a master at wrapping us around her little finger. Here are a few pictures of her funny faces.

  2. Love all the faces! She is getting so big so fast. Awesome that she is crawling! Tell her to wait a long while before she walks. :) It's all about mischief once they are mobile right?
